We had Guest Speaker and Ex QMC Student, Jemma Rowlandson speak to the students!
On Monday, 29th November, we held a STEM Talk, which was run by Jemma Rowlandson, who is an ex-QMC student. She spoke about her experiences since leaving QMC, where she first completed a Chemistry degree at university and then migrated on into the world of Engineering.
Jemma is now involved in research relating to ALTERNATIVE ENERGY, looking at HYDROGEN STORAGE, and is a lecturer at the University of Bristol’s Mechanical Engineering Department.
This talk gave students a great opportunity to see how a degree in any STEM subject leads on to a far wider range of options than people tend to imagine. Her talk provided very useful advice for building a career by spotting and using relevant opportunities as they arise.
