Queen Mary’s College students explored a fantastic range of potential careers, at the recent careers fair that took place on campus. The event saw a diverse set of companies in attendance who were keen to recruit apprentices and showcase the roles and opportunities they offer.
For the students, hearing first-hand information about what employers are looking for in future applicants was impactful. Whether planning to study at university first, or to move straight into employment after College, the students were pleased to gain useful insight and ideas from fantastic organisations including Adecco, AWE, Bright Horizons Nursery, GIST, Kier, KPMG, Metrobank, NHS and The Army.
QMC’s in-house Careers Team were on hand to offer support and advice to students. Also in attendance were employment and volunteering agencies to share information, know-how and meaningful opportunities for those keen to gain experience and enhance applications.
Among the representatives were several former students who were keen to return to the College to support current students who are now in a similar position to they once were. Upon leaving QMC Georgia Quirke & Lana Cater (pictured) both went on to secure apprenticeships working with TechData, a Global Technology Company based in Basingstoke.
