QMC Students Jumping For Joy On A Level Results Day

Queen Mary’s Sixth Form College is proud to announce another remarkable year of A-Level/Level 3 examination results for its 2024 cohort.

The College is delighted with the exceptional performance of this year’s students, who have once again demonstrated their dedication, resilience, and academic excellence. The results reflect both the students’ hard work and the unwavering support of the College’s staff.

An Impressive Set of Results

·         Almost 98% A Level pass rate, 70% of all grades being awarded A*-C

·         99% pass rate, 67% high grades for Extended Diploma Courses (full-time vocational programme equivalent to 3 A Levels)

This year’s results are a testament to the commitment of both the students and the teaching staff. Many students have attained top grades, paving the way for successful transitions to university, apprenticeships, and employment.

Principal Mark Henderson expressed his pride in the students’ accomplishments, stating, “These outstanding results reflect the hard work and perseverance shown by our students, the expertise and dedication of our teaching staff, and the supportive environment fostered by the entire College community. Our students have truly excelled, and we are excited to see them embark on the next chapter of their lives.”

Among the many success stories this year is:

Lewis Broe

William Chave (pictured above jumping high for joy!) achieved a staggering A*A*A* A  in Double Maths, Computing and French securing his place to study Maths at Oxford University.

Excel Oloniyo  achieved A*AA in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry and is now progressing to Southampton University to study Medicine.

Lewis Broe has secured an apprenticeship with KPMG having achieved AAB in Business, Economics and Psychology.

Samuel Bourns achieved A*A*AB and is progressing to university where he will study Law.

AJ Fitzgibbon achieved Triple Distinction* in Performing Arts and has accepted a fantastic offer to study at Milennium Performing Arts College. Abbie Massey (Art) and Luis Blanco (Media) also celebrated Triple Distinction* grades and have exciting careers ahead of them.

Toby Lamerton is set for a promising career in the Police Force after achieving A*AA in Economics, Law and Politics.

Rebecca Kearney achieved AAB in Ancient History, Politics and Psychology securing her place at Oxford University to study History and Politics.

Nishad Kc achieved A*A*A and is off to study Medicine at Brighton & Sussex Medical School.

Paul Lovelock is off to study International relations at university having secured ABB grades in Media, Geography and Politics.

Paris Masona-Akinfaje is going to study Biomedical Science at Warwick University having secured AAA grades in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology.

Freya Bennet is also going to study Biomedical Science (Bournemouth University) having achieved ABB in Criminology, Law and Medical Science.

Freya Loose looks set for a successful career in Mental Health Nursing following her AAA* grades in Law, Politics and Psychology. Freya is heading to Manchester University.

Joshua Liddiard achieved A*AB in Modern History, Politics and Psychology and will be studying Politics at Bath University.

Daisy Foote is excited to be going off to University of Exeter to study Biology and is celebrating straight A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology.

This year’s A-Level results are not only a reflection of academic success but also highlight the holistic development nurtured at Queen Mary’s College.
