Results Day

Results Day

A Level/Level 3 Results Day | Thursday, 15th August 2024.

You are warmly invited to come into the college to collect your results from the Hall starting at 8.30am. This is a wonderful opportunity to share the excitement with your friends and celebrate with staff members too. We also welcome your parents or guardians to join in the celebration. Refreshments will be available.

We know that results day can bring a mix of emotions, and we want you to know that support will be available if you need it. Our dedicated staff will be on hand in the Library from 9am to 3pm on both 15th and 16th August. Whether you have questions about your results, next steps or need advice on Clearing/university options, we’re here to help.

If you’re unable to collect your results in person, you can also access them via Vista from 8.30am. However, we encourage you to join us at the college to be part of the celebrations and to receive any support you might need on the day.

We look forward to seeing you on Results Day to celebrate all that you’ve achieved!

UCAS and Clearing

Students will be able to see whether they have been accepted on the UCAS website from 8am on 15th August.  At this point, many students will be in a position to progress to their firm or insurance choice of university.  Others may be reconsidering their options based on outcomes which are higher or lower than required and there are options in UCAS Clearing for both these scenarios.  If a student’s grades are higher than expected, they can decline a Conditional Offer to free themselves to apply for another course available in Clearing but they must be 100% sure they have an offer of a Clearing place from the university (they cannot decline an Unconditional Offer). They must also be aware before taking this decision that there is no guarantee of student halls accommodation if they switch universities through Clearing and they may lose the deposit for accommodation at the original university choice.

If grades are lower than hoped and a student is rejected by both their firm and insurance university, the important thing is not to panic.  This might not be where they, and you as parents/guardians, thought their journey would go, but there are lots of opportunities and it is important to be aware of the process and consider some preparation now to support them on the day.  93% of universities have places available in Clearing and many people have extremely positive experiences of their Clearing university course/location. If the university has rejected the student, they will have already considered whether they are eligible for alternative courses or entry points.  They do not hold waiting lists or enter into negotiations  but if the student is requesting a review of marking, they should inform the university.
