Every student enrolled at Queen Marys College is automatically a member of the Students’ Union. The Students’ Union is run by students, for students and exists to represent the interests of students at QMC and to organise social events. The Students’ Union is affiliated with the National Union of Students (NUS) so students can benefit from NUS membership and take advantage of discounts in high street stores across the UK through their popular Totum cards.
The executive committee are elected representatives of the whole student body who work to make sure student views are represented. Two members of the Students’ Union are elected as Student Governors and represent the student body at Governor meetings throughout the year.
The Students’ Union run half termly Student Voice meetings, which all students are invited to attend to voice their thoughts and suggestions on college life. All suggestions are taken seriously by the college management team, giving the students a real voice at QMC.
You can find the Students’ Union in the Student Link Box, which is their office situated in the white space, next to the library. If you are unsure of anything at college or need advice, the Students’ Union will be able to point you in the right direction.
